I really enjoyed her interview because she talks about what it is like to live with mental health issues. I am not sure how she gets down in the trenches with people, but I am sure she will help people when they need it.

I think we’re on the same page with the word “self-aware” and the word “self-motivated”. That’s actually quite a good thing. We can get all the answers to our questions, but if our minds are on autopilot and we can’t remember where we are going in the day or what we’re doing, then we’re on the road to self-awareness.

It’s easy to feel like you’re self-aware when you’re just scrolling through your Facebook feed or watching Netflix, but this is just a mental trick that doesn’t really work that well. We’re all too busy to be aware of the things we’re doing and it seems to me that the more we think about ourselves, the worse that feeling becomes. We all have a tendency to want to stop, to rewind, to look back, but this just doesn’t work for me.
